Intro to Sketch Writing 

Online Group Class Description

This five-week course is a crash-course on all things comedy writing & is perfect for beginners.

Get ready to learn a LOT. Some of the skills the class covers include: 
 

  • Learn to write the Five different Sketch Types that exist

  • Experience working in a writers room environment

  • How to turn funny ideas (even small ones) into actual scripts and content

  • Breaking down famous sketch shows and writing in their style

  • Create one-off and recurring sketch pieces/characters for social media

  • Win/Win techniques for pitching your ideas to others
     

No prior writing or comedy experience is necessary.

Each student will also receive curated video resources to enhance their overall learning experience.

Class Size: 10 students; everyone will get plenty of feedback and individual attention.

Length: Sessions are 2.5 hours, and meets for 5 weeks online over Zoom.

There will be required writing assignments/deadlines each week.

NOTE: Class #1 is the Foundations Class and CANNOT be missed. Those who miss week 1 will not be able to participate in the course.
